Recorder Karate!
Students can continue learning the recorder by learning the Recorder Karate songs on their own.
Students:
If you play the song without mistakes I will mail you your new recorder karate reward belt! I can also send you a new ring, or belts that you are owed, but haven't yet received.
Parents:
This is optional. Students will have the opportunity to take themselves as far as they'd like on recorder. When we return to classes we will pick up where we left off in class. No one needs to advance to the next recorder karate belt to stay with the pace of the rest of the class. This is self-guided work.
Most students have practice recorders at home. I sent them out earlier this year to students that wanted them, and a lot went out. Some students may even still have one that was loaned out last year. If there isn't one at home, I am willing to deliver you child's recorder to your door. It would be the one assigned to them that stays in the classroom. I would sanitize it and drop it off at your home. They can be cleaned very easily in the top rack of the dishwasher, or in hot soapy water.
If you need me to send physical copies of the sheet music for these songs, I am happy to do that. Just ask me in an email with your mailing address.
You do not need to respond to this message. Please feel free to let me know how I can help you with completing this work if your child is interested in advancing to the next recorder karate belt.

Students can continue learning the recorder by learning the Recorder Karate songs on their own.
Students:
- Follow the link to my weebly webpage.
If the link doesn't work type this into the web browser: bethanyschoolmusic.weebly.com - Follow the directions on the website.
If you’re reading this on the website, good job! You found it.
- Read the instructions on how to teach yourself a new recorder song.
- Practice using the accompaniment recordings on the page. Read the music from the page. If you have a printer you can print the music, but that isn't necessary.
- When you're ready, have your parents take a video of you playing the song on the recorder. Try to have the accompaniment playing somewhere that I can hear both you and the accompaniment recording playing in the video.
- You or your parents can send me the video. Email it to me at [email protected]
